A Woman of a Certain (R)age
1 Phoenix St, London, WC2H 8BU
Description
A Woman of a Certain Rage is a righteous menopausal mood swing. This one woman show blends hilarity and heartrending trauma into nothing short of a call to action. Written and performed by NYC comedian and actor Kate Valentine.
A Woman of a Certain Rage uses Mz. Valentine’s background in vaudeville and burlesque to tell a harrowing story of medical abuse through a variety show lens. Direct comedic address, physical comedy, dance, and song are employed. Most pointedly, masked Commedia Dell’ Arte clowning is used in the portrayal of the male doctors. The doctors are allowed to tell their version of the story. U.K. premiere.
